Thai Body Retrieved from the CTV Building in Christchurch Identified

The Identification Board of New Zealand has announced that it has been able to identify the Thai body that was retrieved from the collapsed CTV building in Christchurch. The deceased is named Haruthaya Luangsuraphisakul, whose death certificate will be issued soon, informed Police Lt. General Jaramporn Suramanee.

It was also announced that the forensic team that had identified the Thai body will resort to DNA testing to identify another body that was recovered from the building. The second person is suspected to be a Thai native as apart from the facial features. The person's left wrist contains a bangle with Buddhist text written on it.

Meanwhile, Jaramporn has announced that he will submit a request to the board at 2pm yesterday. According to reports, the board has already received requests for the release of seven bodies that include Haruthaya's corpse as well.

Mr. Jaramporn has further informed that the death certificate will be issued in English and then it will be translated to Thai. The Embassy of Thailand in New Zealand can represent for the relatives of Haruthaya and can even request the embassy to pay the full expenses in advanced payments for the transfer of body.

Mr. Jaramporn has further informed that the body's transfer can take up to two days.
