StudyA recent research by experts has reported that people can reduce their chances of developing Parkinson’s if they take the drug ibuprofen just two or three times a week. The latest finding might pave the way for researchers to embark on a journey to discover a possible cure for the debilitating condition.

Talking about the finding, Professor Ablerto Ascherio, of the Harvard University, informed that there is no specific cure for Parkinson’s, so the discovery that ibuprofen can reduce the chances of people developing the disease is quite captivating. According to the statistics available, the condition inflicts about 120,000 people living in the UK; apart from that, new cases are diagnosed in 10,000 people every year.

For the study, experts had carried out an analysis of 99,000 women and 37,000 men, who were a part of a health study. Following a period of six years, it was found by experts that 291 people involved in the study had developed Parkinson’s; they reported that people who consumed ibuprofen were at a 38% reduced risk of developing the condition.
