One of the most ‘business-critical’ systems of Australia is now in safe hands. Renowned solution provider of the US, CSC has signed a 4 year $ 8 million deal with the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) for continuing to provide mainframe and network communications services in support of the Electoral Roll, along with implementing a new Disaster Recovery System for the data.

This deal is the latest in an 11 year association of CSC with the AEC, through a long running contract the - 1997 Cluster 3 Outsourcing Agreement with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. CSC has also been a part of the Commonwealth for 35 years.

In a press statement, AEC's Chief Information Officer, Michael Cuddihy said, “This new contract further demonstrates AEC’s confidence in CSC to provide IT services to upkeep one of Australia’s most business critical systems, at the same time delivering value for money with reliable, safe and mature service options”.

CSC is also upbeat about the contract. "During the past year, CSC has been awarded multiple contracts within the federal sector and we are well positioned for growth in the Australian federal market", said Matthew Day, CSC's Public Sector Health and Financial Services Vice-President.
