The February 22 earthquake has left many people jobless and homeless at Christchurch. Many of these aged-care workers are unemployed due the destruction caused by the earthquake.
The Bupa Care Services has been working with unions and competitors to offer employment to these people. The Bupa Care Services believes that helping these workers would reduce their pressure.
Bupa Care Services is also working for the elderly in order to provide beds. Bupa has planned to arrange new beds at their Cashmere View Rest Home to overcome the shortage of beds. The Bupa staff continues to conduct all the activities at their rest homes and hospitals so that the normality could be maintained among the residents of Christchurch.
The Bupa Care Services will provide employment to these employees at their age-care homes. The additional staff will enable the existing staff to take some rest after a long period of restless work.
