Weight Loss Programs Might Help in Feeling Good for Obese

Weight Loss Programs Might Help in Feeling Good for ObeseIn a latest review, researchers stated that obese people who opt for any kind of weight loss program based on exercise and lifestyle changes are found to be less depressed about their body.

Though, the experts were not sure whether losing weight played any role in itself in boosting the mood the obese.

There have been several previous studies which have associated obesity with several serious medical conditions and depression has been one of them.

Some studies have come up with the findings which suggest that by losing even a small percentage of their body weight, obese people can improve their physical and mental health, even if they continue being obese.

Some of the doctors have been suggesting a number of medications to perpetuate weight loss but those medicines have been associated with the increased rate of depression and suicidal tendencies.

Dr. Anthony Fabricatore, whose findings appear in the International Journal of Obesity, said, “The new report doesn’t want to imply that weight loss is a substitute for treatment of clinically significant depression. But for people who have some symptoms of depression and are overweight (or) obese, there's some relief that comes with weight loss”.

To reach these conclusions, the researcher conducted a review of 31 previous studies focusing on the relation of weight loss in a structured program and changes in symptoms of depression and they found that people in almost every kind of weight loss program showed improvements in their mood.
