A new study by the researchers have found out that those people who have attention deficit hyper therapy disorder have more creativity within themselves as compared to others.
"For the same reason that ADHD might create problems, like distraction, it can also allow an openness to new ideas", said Holly White, assistant professor of cognitive psychology at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida and co-author of the paper.
Researchers claim that they do not pay attention to their surroundings much and thus they can think and find out innovative creativity from inside.
White and Priti Shaw at the University of Michigan have studied 60 college students. Out of the 60, half of them suffer from ADHD. The researchers gave them creativity tests across 10 categories. The study revealed that the students belonging to ADHD category scored better marks than those who are normal.
According to this study, the group with ADHD has also proved better in creative ideas and brainstorming than those who are normal. This study was a follow up to the one which was previously done in the year 2006.
According to Shah, the study proved that the people with ADHD syndrome are more creative in nature. This study was published in the Journal of Personality and Individual Differences.
