In January, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) conducted a series of spot checks at all four hospitals run by the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and it has come out with a report saying that all four hospitals were found fully complying and meeting all the quality and safety standards.
CQC specifically mentioned in its report that overall, people were praising about the care and support they received.
Marian Carroll, Director of nursing at Pennine Acute Trust, said, “This is a reflection of the hard work, skill and commitment of all staff who strive to provide the very best care. Our staff should be congratulated”.
During the spot checks, the inspectors spent four hours on each of the nine wards across the trust and carefully observed all the operations and records other than talking to the staff and patients.
To come to these conclusions, the inspection team conducted interviews with five patients and groups of staff in two wards of Fairfield General Hospital.
