It’s Never Too Late to Take Prevention Steps for CancerResearchers have discovered the steps to lower the risk of developing cancer. Today, technology has become very advanced, but still science has not developed tests to determine who among us will get affected by cancer. Cancer takes years to develop and sometimes even decades; most of the diagnosed people are above the age of 55.

The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) has joined the cancer research and established many suggestions for cancer prevention. It is never too late to take steps for its prevention. The steps of prevention include eating healthy food like fruits and vegetables, staying physically active by exercising for at least 30 minutes a day and healthy body weight.

The AICR also suggests avoiding processed meat products, as high intake of meat generally indicates lower intake of the cancer protective food like fruits and vegetables. Too much salt also leads to stomach cancer; it should be limited as well.

It has been found that breastfed kids are less likely to be overweight as compared to adults. Overweight has been recognized as a risk factor for at least seven types of cancer, as breast feeding helps to lower lifetime risk. Even mothers who feed their children have a lower risk of breast cancer.

In teenagers, it has been found that girls who consume higher alcohol have a greater risk of developing breast cancer than those who consume less.
