For the study, the team of researchers at Hiroshima University studied the dental health of around 358 patients and found that people of the age of around 50 or 60 having lesser than 24 teeth are almost 57 % more likely to get a heart stroke.

Many old studies have cited the concern of maintaining dental care in order to get cure from heart diseases. The aforementioned study has observed a micro-organism linked with gum disease in the arteries of patients.

The study has highlighted that persistent gum infection can lead to fatal heart diseases like ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. Moreover, the study has factorized various other inherent factors like smoking, obesity and alcohol in order to probe the actual impact of dental infection.

As most of the people lose their teeth after the age of 40, the doctors have echoed grave concern over the fact that improper dental care can result in dire consequences. However, doctors have advised people to take proper dental care so that any acute health concern pertaining to heart can be avoided.
