KFC reports 7.4% sales growth

The Restaurant Brands continued to perform better despite a number of challenges in the way owing to low spending by customers under the impact of global slowdown. The group reported 4.7 per cent increase in sales that stood at $72.9 million, thanks to strong growth registered by the group from its KFC operations.

KFC alone contributed 70 per cent of total company sales and its sales surged 7.4 per cent in the reporting quarter to $51.4m as a large number of people turned up at its stores for the delicious products. KFC reported 10 per cent growth on a same store basis and the trend is still going on with a steep rise in sales across all stores.

The firm has been working renovation at some stores and sets a target to transform 50 per cent of its stores by the end of the year under the transformation program of Restaurant Brands. The Brand added no new store during the quarter and it is going to launch a new store in Greenlane, Auckland tomorrow.

However, Brand's revenue from Pizza Hut and Starbucks declined 0.1 percent and 2.8% respectively during the third quarter. Chief Executive Russel Creedy said, "The current economic climate is still not adversely impacting overall positive sales growth for the company."
