Microsoft on Wednesday announced that launch of its new cloud-based suite of management tools for IT administrators- Windows Intune.
Designed to make managing an organization’s computers easier, Windows Intune brings a Web based console, accessible through any browser using Microsoft Silverlight support, to let the user organization’s IT administrators to manage updates and malware protection in addition to allow them to track software & hardware deployments.
Microsoft said users of the new service would not have to have any servers on premise and they could get out of managing physical assets. The company added that Intune would allow users to create a well-managed desktop environment for their own selves.
Speaking on the topic, Gavriella Schuster from Microsoft said, “Our goal is to take all of our on-premise offerings and move them into the cloud.”
Ultimately, Intune will provide Microsoft's all IT management software services, including System Center and Service Manager.
Microsoft starts Intune pricing at 7.25 pounds per computer, per month. The company is also offering bulk discount for organizations which want more than 250 licenses. Company’s 30-day trial service is available in 35 countries, including America, Australia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Ireland, India and Mexico.
