The World Tuberculosis Day has captured the attention of the world. With countries grappling to combat the scar of TB, various nations are putting in their best efforts to eradicate the cause of TB.
As per reports, the Fiji Health Ministry has joined hands with the private sector to combat TB. Responding to the news, the Deputy Secretary of Public Health, Dr. Joe Koroivueta, has claimed that the Directly Observed Treatment Short course (DOST) is slowly progressing to achieve the target of rooting out TB from the society.
Moreover, the Fiji government has assured that they will put their best efforts in collaboration with other volunteer organizations to root out TB.
Meanwhile, various programmes are being organized by the governments of many countries like India to address the issue of TB. As per the reports, a two-wheeler rally is being conducted to spread awareness about TB and its cure among the various sections of the society.
Many health experts have cited that there is hidden fear in the minds of the people due to the length of the treatment, which make them quit in between the therapy.
In addition, Minister of State for Health, Rajkumar Sharma reportedly assured that his ministry is planning to start a programme called ‘TB ke virudh yudh' (war against TB) in the state soon to support the noble cause.
