Lack of Exercise Might Lead To a Stroke While Having Sex

exercise-SexAccording to a research conducted by Issa Dahabreh and Jessica Paulus of Tufts Medical Center in Boston, a sudden physical exertion might cause a heart attack in people who don’t do physical exercise on a daily basis.

To conduct this research, 14 previous studies investigating the link between physical activity, sex and heart attacks were examined and it was found that an unusual burst of strenuous physical activity could prove hazardous for the unfit.

In a statement, Dr. Paulus said, “Individuals who engage in sexual activity have a 2.7-fold increase in the risk of heart attack during a brief window of time – on the order of several hours during and after the sexual activity, as compared to periods of time when the person is not having sex”.

Explaining further, she said that the risk was increased for a short period of time and these triggers had a very small impact on the individual’s heart over a long period of time.

Explaining the above statement with the help of numbers, she said that if 10,000 people engaged in one or more episodes of physical or sexual activity per week then that would potentially trigger only 1 to 2 additional cases of heart attack.
