The scar of dengue fever has gripped Rio de Janeiro city. As per reports, the number of diagnosed cases of dengue fever has crossed the mark of 20,000. The health authorities are in extreme shock with the sudden jump of the infected cases in a time frame of just three months.
If statistics are to be believed, number of confirmed cases has reached 20,150 and the causality figure has moved to 18. Moreover, there are reports that Niteroi in Rio de Janeiro state has provided no immunity to the people for type-4 dengue fever.
Meanwhile, health officials of Pearl City have confirmed four cases of dengue fever in the city. As per official sources, one of the diseased had traveled to Wisconsin last month and was admitted to the hospital with severe symptoms of dengue fever.
Responding to the situation, State Epidemiologist, Sarah Park reportedly claimed that though two of the reported cases are confirmed dengue cases, there is high probability that the other two will also fall in the same category.
Moreover, the Health Department has sent warning signals to Oahu physicians to take all the necessary steps to control the dithering situation and further, instructed the laboratories to keep a track of the reported cases of dengue fever.
