Preventive Therapy Averts Fear of Reoccurrence of Breast Cancer

Preventive Therapy Averts Fear of Reoccurrence of Breast CancerThe scar of breast cancer has been a persistent problem for middle aged women. With millions of women getting benefitted from early screening of breast cancer, the fear of recurrence of cancer is gripping the patients.

Amid concerns over the probability of recurrence of cancer, a panel of cancer experts has made an appeal to make tamoxifen a licensed preventive drug to cure breast cancer.

Though there is fine line between risk and benefits associated with any therapy, Professor Jack Cuzick, an Epidemiologist at Queen Mary, University of London, reportedly claimed that tamoxifen can cure up to 20% breast cancer patients. But, there is high probability of three womb cancers and six deeper vein thromboses being diagnosed.

Moving on the same lines, a study was conducted to garner the opinion of women on the recurrence of breast cancer. The result showed that nearly 50% English women were highly conscious about the recurrence of breast cancer as compared to other non-Hispanic white and African-American women.

However, the study has assured that appropriate medical therapy to the breast cancer patients can help combat the mental fear of reoccurrence of breast cancer and can further avert other health care complications.
