Tickets for Apple WWDC 2011 sell out within just 12 hoursTickets for Apple's Worldwide Development Conference 2011, which is scheduled to take place from June 6 to June 10 at the Moscone West in San Francisco, took less a day to get sold out.

All the tickets for the upcoming event were sold out in merely 12 hours, as compared with last year when it took 8 days for WWDC tickets to be sold out.

Scalpers left not stone unturned to make the most of the huge demand. They put tickets on eBay and Craigslist, with price tag soaring as high as $4,599, drastically up from ticket’s original price tag of $1,599.

The tech community is eagerly waiting for the conference as many new products are expected to be announced at the event.

What is being most expected from Apple’s upcoming event is the fifth-generation iPhone, the iPhone 5. Apple usually launches the new version of its iPhone in summer.

Apple could put Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on full display for developers to inspect. The platform, which was announced last year by Apple chief Steve Jobs, could be rolled out this summer.

The company could also announce a free MobileMe service, iPad 2 sales figures and its commitment to 4G.

It is also possible that Apple will announce some improvements to its the Mac App Store and iTunes service.

Apple is also expected to use the event to announce a delay in the release of the next version of the iPhone’s software, the iOS 5. a few days back, rumors were swirling that Apple was planning to postpone iOS5’s release until this fall.
