Diabetic Patients More Likely to Get Diagnosed With Parkinson

Diabetic Patients More Likely to Get Diagnosed With ParkinsonIt’s an alarming signal for diabetic patients. As per a recent study, people suffering from diabetes are almost at a 41% risk of Parkinson disease. For the study, the team roped in 289,000 older U. S. adults to track their medical condition for next 15 years.

Though the team does not confirm that diabetes is the only reason of the high incidence rate of Parkinson, the study asserted diabetes as among the potential reasons of people diagnosed with Parkinson.

Responding to the study, senior researcher Dr. Honglei Chen, of the U. S. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, claimed that diabetic patients should follow the prescribed medication in order to avert the potential damage of Parkinson.

Moreover, the team has hinted that the potential association between diabetes and Parkinson's disease seems to be stemmed from the fact that that a low-level inflammation is observed in the body.

Meanwhile, a team of US scientists has reported that by consuming regular pill of Pioglitazone, a significant reduction of 72% in the risk of type 2 diabetes can be averted.

Responding to the success of the therapy, Dr. Robert R. Henry, president, medicine and science, of the American Diabetes Association, claimed that this study is by far the most remarkable study in the field of type 2 diabetes.
