Sabornido lost his hope for life a month ago when he was told that he has only 6 months to live because of the end-stage liver disease he has been suffering from. But the story is different now and fortunately very good that Dr. Julito Sabornido Jr., 51, has become the country’s most successful adult liver-transplant survivor.
He underwent a roughly 12-hour operation on March 9 at St. Luke’s Medical Center that gave him a new liver and he is luckily showing “remarkable” recovery after the same. In the situation, Sabornido told reporters on Wednesday that “If He let you live, He still has a plan for you. I talked to God as if He’s a friend and I told him: Come down here. Let’s talk”. Sabornido is definitely determined to recover quickly from this ailment.
Regarding the situation, the doctor who operated Sabornido was contacted and he remarked, “If it will take long, I will be sick for a longer period. So I set a goal to take five steps today; then tomorrow I have to make 10 steps”.
Reason is surely big that Sabornido should relish. “We’re happy to say that he’s ready to go home today”, said Dr. Juliet Gopez-Cervantes, head of St. Luke’s Center for Liver Diseases.
