High Speed Rail Network May Benefit Many

High-Speed-Rail-Network.The Transport Secretary, Philip Hammond has reasoned the benefits of the proposed project worth £32 billion by stating that the high speed rail network will play a significant role in improving the present commuter services.

The project was discarded by many as it was strongly felt that it has no potential to serve the purpose and will trigger nothing but congestion in the area.

But, refuting the speculations, Hammond has claimed that the project will free up the space in the area and can even open up the passage for as many as 160 additional trains into the capital, every day.

Mr. Hammond asserted: “Building a whole new line would create scope for people who live on the current lines to have more frequent services that are less crowded – I would also hope that this additional competition could mean cheaper fares as well”.

He further accentuated the need for the additional trains as many regular commuters have to travel long distances without getting any seats.

The bosses of the HS2 Ltd have claimed that residents of Milton Keynes will be the highest beneficiaries from this project as the commuter services in these areas are expected to shot up by whopping 90%.

HS2 Ltd is the company that will handle the entire construction work of this proposed project.
