Recently, a new research was conducted by Dutch scientists in which they found that intake of a vitamin B12 during early pregnancy could increase the chances for mothers to have a quiet and contended offspring.
At the same time, the study found that the mothers with low levels of that vitamin are likely to have babies who cry for at least three hours in a day.
Some experts believe that it was a study with unique results so it would not be recommended to pregnant women to change their diets after these findings.
Vitamin B12 is usually found in red meat, chicken, dairy products and fortified breakfast cereals and it plays a vital role in the development of the brain and nervous system of unborn babies.
The study warns the vegetarians about the vulnerability to this vitamin which could lead to anemia, tiredness, weight loss and constipation.
To conduct this study, the scientists examined the vitamin B12 levels of more than 4,000 pregnant women and after comparing the results with the responses of those women to a questionnaire, they found that 5% of the women with lowest level of B12 complained about a crying baby in comparison to only 1% of mothers with highest levels of the vitamin.
