A Further Move for Tackling America's AIDS Epidemic

AIDSThere is no doubt about the fact, that AIDS still remains a worsening and devastating epidemic in some rigid hit communities in our country but then at the same time, it is good to know that today it is much less present in the minds of general public.

A sense of urgency has been definitely replaced with a sign of satisfaction, but then at the same time, the rate of 56,000 annual new HIV infections has not descended during the past decade, and around one-third of Americans suffering from HIV/AIDS are not receiving proper lifesaving medication.

It’s good to know that recently the Obama Administration with an aim to refocus on the efforts for tackling the domestic AIDS problem has taken few decisive steps.

A National HIV/AIDS Strategy has been released by the U. S. president in July 2010. With this strategy, he has tried to set ambitious goals by aiming a reduction in the HIV infection rates, increasing access to AIDS treatment, and reducing the profound racial and other disparities that have been known as the signature of America's AIDS epidemic since beginning.
