Since years, condom is known as an effective source for preventing pregnancy and spread of sexually transmitted diseases like AIDS and HIV. Though these are not foolproof but are still considered as an effective safety precaution while indulging in sexual activities. Condoms are known by many colorful and attractive names- sheaths, rubber, love gloves etc.

To create more awareness among the people and to motivate more of them to use condoms, Davao City is trying to push for a passage for a Condom Ordinance. This way it will encourage individuals and private companies to bestow condoms for the city. Government pronouncement has been already made and besides so many speculations that the Catholic Church will oppose, it seems that this move will be soon initiated, the only question left in mind is that whether or not it will gain support from public.

It is not only the donations that would be collected from the individuals and institutions by this move, but it should be also understood that the Condom Ordinance would uphold the public health as well.

It is very obvious to know that not everyone can desist from sex. For sexually active people, condoms are necessary and they are effective.
