Google is facing new regulations in its deal with travel software firm ITA. Google aims at launching its own travel search engine. Google said that it wants access to the company’s software so that it can build the best possible travel search engine. Google has also said that consumers rely on it because it offers better products.
Google was operating free from government intervention in the past 13 years. Recently, the Federal Trade Commission announced that Google will have to undergo regular audits because of the complaints related to the violation of privacy agreements with users when it launched its Buzz social-networking product.
Google had to face such investigations and regulations from time to time. Antitrust officials would be conducting the investigations of the company related to new ITA deal. The European Union has already launched an investigation into Google’s business. The investigation also includes complaints from companies; including Microsoft that Google is influencing its dominant search engine to block competitors.
Bert Foer, President of the American Antitrust Institute, said that the new plans and deal of Google has left the consumers worried.
