Condoms are popularly known by various colourful terms such as rubber, sheaths, love gloves etc. and they are the subject of much debate. Davao City is adamant on pressurizing for the passage of a Condom Ordinance which will help boost the private companies as well as individuals to donate condoms for the city’s purpose.
According to the government pronouncement which has been made along with the speculations that the Catholic Church is going to be against the move appears to be quite possible. As of the now, concerns are being raised regarding whether the move is going to get any public support.
Davao City is going to embark upon a mission to distribute condoms all over the city. Besides this perception, it must also be kept in mind that the Condom Ordinance is not only going to allow donations from institutions and individuals but even have the public health upheld.
It is but obvious that not everyone can keep oneself away from sex. Condoms have a record of being 98% effective in preventing pregnancy as well as the spread of sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV and AIDS. This is the ulterior motive of the government in the massive distribution of condoms.
