Microsoft on Thursday rolled out its first iPad app- a version of Bing mobile app, which lets users to search the Web with Microsoft’s engine, displays results and aggregates Web content in its wrapper.
Making searches is the core work for Bing for iPad, but it is not merely a search app. Depending on the search, Bing for iPad fills the tablet’s screen with images, relevant search results, videos and all that.
Bing for iPad also completely supports multi-touch gestures, which allows users to swipe through pages of search results, pinch-to-zoom on image search results or tap on the images to view a larger image.
The app also provides users with access to Bing Maps and local search results, which allows users to make searches for addresses and find businesses in their local areas. Users can just drag around an overhead Bing map to get down to an area.
Available for all devices running iOS 3.1 or later, Bing for iPad is optimized for larger screen. Bing for iPad is a specific version of the already available Bing mobile app.
Bing for iPad is available at Apple’s iTunes App Store for free.
