President Barack Obama was recently pointed out by the Republicans for not being in touch and showing callous attitude towards the budget negotiations.
Allaying all these claims, administration officials have responded that it was wrong to assume a thing like that and they emphasized that that Obama’s team had been quietly working with lawmakers for weeks.
In an official statement by the administration officials, it was mentioned that this attitude was a part of a calculated strategy in which he was supposed to delay the direct talks in order to avoid overexposing Democrats’ sole marquee star and to gain maximum advantage out of the situation.
It is not a distant past when he staged several last hour interventions during last year’s tax-cut debate which proved to be a success in his case. So, he was trying to use the same old strategy this time when he popped into the White House briefing room on Tuesday.
Experts believe that this move of the President is surrounded by uncertainty as issues like defense dollars and abortion were still acting as a hurdle in his way to make the ends meet.
Rich Tarplin, a former Clinton administration official and Democratic lobbyist, said, “They understand the power of the office, and they have the patience and restraint to exercise it wisely”.
