The Wi-Fi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab is available in the United States for purchase with a price tag of $350.
Users of the Wi-Fi model will not have to sign long-term contracts like they used to with 3G services. However the 3G model, which has been available since last year, is cheaper.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi only model comes equipped with a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, 7-inch display and 16 GB of storage.
The tablet runs on Google’s Android OS 2.2 and brings Samsung’s Touchwiz and the Swype virtual keyboard.
Online retailers Amazon and TigerDirect are selling preorders for the tablet for $349.99.
On the other hand, the 3G model of the Galaxy tab is available from a number of carriers with different service contracts. T-Mobile is offering the 3G model for $249.99 with a 2-year contract, while Sprint and Verizon are offering the tablet for just $199.99.
