Toyota is all set to cut down the production at its North American factories in five one-day shutdowns due to lack of component supplies.
The Japanese giant has a shortage of spare parts after Japan was devastated by an earthquake and Tsunami on March 11.
Toyota has claimed that all 13 of its plants in North America would be affected.
Last week, Toyota head office said reports it would halt production there were a "total misunderstanding.” That comment came after a US spokesman for the carmaker said a temporary halt was "inevitable" following the damage caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
Toyota further claimed that vehicle production and almost all North American engine and plant parts would suffer.
The probable dates for shutdown are 15, 18, 21, 22 and 25 April. The manufacturing plant at Kentucky would not be shutdown on 21 April.
Toyota claimed that no company decision have been made for April 25.
Toyota has started its production in its Japan Production units at a reduced capacity.
The factories in Japan would be shut down between 27 April and 9 May. This includes the Golden Week Holidays.
Other companies are also affected by this move of the company.
