Amazon.com offers Kindle e-reader for $114

AmazonOnline retailer Amazon. com Inc. is offering Kindle for just $114, in a deal that represents a discount of $25 from the existing lowest-priced model of the electronic-book reader.

However, the deal requires customers to view adverts in exchange for get the electronic-book reader at lower price.

According to the Seattle-based company, the offer will be available till 3rd of May 3 at Target Corp. and Best Buy Co. stores, in addition to Amazon’s site.

A version without adverts will continue to sell for $139.

Kindle products director Jay Marine said that the lower price tag would make the device affordable for all those who wanted to have one.

Speaking on the topic, Marine said, “Every time we’ve been able to make the device more affordable, we’ve seen huge growth in demand. We expect the same to happen here.”

Kindle is Amazon’s most popular product. According to Caris & Co, Kindle will generate estimated revenue of $5.42 billion in 2011.
