Renowned chipmaker Intel on Tuesday used the ongoing Intel Developer Forum in Beijing, China, to preview its next-generation "Cedar Trail" Atom processor that is due in Netbooks this holiday season.
Touting its tablet strategy at the conference, Intel showed off a future Cedar Trail Netbook and an Intel Classmate PC that will come equipped with the future Atom chip.
According to General Manager Doug Davis, of the Netbook & tablet group at Intel, Cedar Trail Netbooks will be slimmer, lighter as well as quieter than the existing Netbooks.
The list of other Cedar Trail goodies includes increased speed, improved graphics silicon and cooler running chips.
The above-mentioned goodies of the future Cedar Trail will be done on Intel's 32nm manufacturing process, instead of the older 45nm process.
Speaking on company’s plans about tablets, Mr. Davis said that the company was pumping money into the tablet-specific user experience in China, called the "PRC Plus Experience."
