The scar of melanoma cancer has gripped people, irrespective of their age. Though tangible steps have been taken by the Melanoma Foundation to spread awareness, many experts believe that a lot needs to be done to stabilize the dithering situation in New Zealand.
If statistics are to be believed, 300 people lose their life due to melanoma cancer every year, though the mortality rate is far reaching in Australia.
Addressing the percolating concern of melanoma cancer, the Melanoma Foundation has kick started a national campaign to spread awareness for melanoma cancer in New Zealanders.
Just like Mrs. Cucksey who ignored her ugly scar on her body, experts believe that there are many people who are likely to get affected with late diagnosis of melanoma cancer.
Moreover, the Melanoma Foundation has roped in about 15 prominent personalities to wear a removable scar tattoo so as to stimulate the drive. With the tattoos becoming a fad among the people, the raised funds will be used for the treatment of melanoma patients.
Though many celebrities are contributing their best to the noble cause, experts believe that local residents should be pulled in to be part of the media campaign so as to strike a chord with masses.
