Migrants Bursting the Population

Since year 2004, New Zealand’s Population is on its top burst this year. According to statistics shared, the number of visitors from overseas rose from 600 to 219,900 in November, compared to last year.

Australian arrivals have increased by 9%, while those of US have decreased by 11%. Visitors from Korea and Japan were down by 36% and 24% respectively, whereas from UK were also down by 10%.

Departures fell 27 per cent while arrivals fell 2.4 per cent compared to last year. Residents from around New Zealand went on 158,400 short term overseas trips in November, up 2% from a year earlier. For the year, short-term departures were down 3% to 1.92 million.

A rise housing demand is also seen by The Reserve Bank, and it has been estimated that this will drive up the house prices. November has been recorded as the fourth consecutive month wherein the total number of departures has managed to surpass those recorded for the same month last year, and this has come after nine months of recorded decline.
