The State Department of Revenue has announced April 18 as the deadline to pay Federal and State taxes. The department has recommended that people who have not filed their returns can submit them electronically. The website is accessible anytime and the filers can-in tax forms which performs calculations to help perverting errors. The electronic filers will also receive an acknowledgement that their tax return has been received. The tax filers can also deposit the funds into a savings or checking account.
The IRS is expecting 2.7 million returns to be filed from Wisconsin this year. The reports of IRS have revealed that 1.9 million returns had been filed from Wisconsin till Friday.
The State Department of Revenue has said that any filer who fails to file the tax on Monday can file for an extension with the Internal Revenue Service by using the form 4868. After the extension request would be accepted the filers can submit their returns till October 17.
