Redmond-based software colossal Microsoft recently launched its new app store for its Office 365 Cloud-based software released the suite for public beta testing.
The public-beta testing release is available in seventeen language and thirty-eight countries across the world. It joins Microsoft Office, Exchange Online, Lync Online and SharePoint Online. The service costs $6 per user per month.
The newly launched Office 365 Marketplace will offer Web-based apps and services which work with Office 365 that features programs like that of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, and saves files to the cloud. The Marketplace offers more than 100 productivity apps in addition to 400 professional services.
Files stored in the Cloud will allow better collaboration among co-workers as it will allow many co-workers to access Office files, make amendments to keep documents up to date.
The Office 365 was originally launched in October last year in limited beta. The platform is basically a re-branding of the Microsoft’s Business Productivity Online Suite that bundled products like SharePoint Online.
Microsoft is also teaming up with Canadian manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) to put its cloud offerings into BlackBerry products. RIM’s soon-to-be-released PlayBook tablet will have capability to port and display Office 365 data from any user’s BlackBerry, with the help of the BlackBerry Bridge tethering service.
