US Invests USD 3 million in Samoa’s Dialysis UnitThe scar of obesity has struck Samoa Island in America. As per a report, citizens of Samoa have been ranked among the most obese in the world.

With the news of obesity reaching the corners of the society, U. S. Interior Assistant Secretary of Insular Areas, Anthony Babauta made an appeal to the people to shove off unhealthy eating habits to avert the potential consequences of obesity.

As obesity is becoming percolating concern for the government, Anthony Babauta made another attempt to address the request of investing funds in the dialysis clinic at American Samoa’s LBJ hospital.

With the demand for dialysis treatment hitting the mark of 43%, Anthony Babauta approved the investment of an additional three million US dollars to pacify the incessant pleas of Americans.

Responding to the spiraling rate of non-communicable diseases, he claimed, “We will do what we can to respond to the current situation, which is why I will approve Governor Togiola’s recent request to allocate three million CIP [Capital Improvement Projects] dollars for the expansion of the renal dialysis facility, to double the number of patient units at the LBJ Tropical Medical Center”.
