On the back of grains marketers and provider of rural services looking at potential growth opportunities, AWB Ltd has continued to stick with its very positive outlook and has predicted an at least 51% growth in earnings for the complete upcoming fiscal year.
As per AWB Chairman Peter Polson's announcement, which was made at the company's annual general meeting on Wednesday, the firm's fiscal 2010 pre-tax earnings from continuing operations is expected to be between $115 Million and $140 Million, as compared to last year's figure of $93 Million.
A net loss of $250 Million was reported by the company for the 2009 financial year, a figure that has been described as "disappointing".
"Now that we have a healthy balance sheet we are in a position to look at sound commercial opportunities to grow our company. With Australia's proximity to Asia and rapidly growing Asian demand, there is an increasing range of attractive opportunities for the business", said Mr. Polson.
The new forecast shared has been an improvement on the November predictions shared by the company which expected complete year earnings to fall in the range of $95 Million to $115 Million.
