March Saw Upturn in UK Retail SalesWith a little help from the non-store and food sales, the retail sales in UK have experienced a sudden high in the month of March.

There is a rise in the sales volumes by 0.2%, when compared to last month, revealed the Office for National Statistics. There was a much weaker number expected by the market analysts after the release of a survey by the British Retail Consortium.

There was a drop of 0.9% in the sales registered in the month of February. This was an unexpected turn of events that had even put the analysts in surprise. It was revealed by the ONS in the latest report of the retail sales that the sales volume had increased by 1.3% in March in the year 2010. This was in relation with the festival of Easter that was celebrated in March that year.

According to the release of the recent data, there was a climb of 0.5% I the sterling in relation to the dollar to $1.654. This was after a higher probability of the Bank of England raised its rates over the summer months.
