Difficulty in breathing, tough swallowing, exhaustion, loss of appetite and persistent cough are other negative effects. For a doctor, it is essential to know a complete medical history in order to diagnose the presence of mesothelioma along with the chest x-rays and pulmonary function tests.
Although the physicians cannot relay much on the x-ray as it does not have the caliber to spot the actual asbestos fibers on the film but it is beneficial to describe the early signs of lung disease drafted by the asbestos exposure.
