Professor Lynnette Ferguson, a leading New Zealand expert on the links between diet and cancer, will speak on May 4 at the next meeting of the Auckland Cancer Society with a speech titled “Genes, Diet and Breast Cancer”. The public is welcome to attend and listen.
According to Heather Stonestreet, an administrator at the Breast Cancer Network, nutrition is one of the top keys in preventing the causes of cancer. “This meeting will be of interest to women who have experienced breast cancer themselves, and to both men and women who have experienced breast cancer in their family”, she said.
The Breast Cancer Network is a grassroots organization that crosses the nation of New Zealand to support women with breast cancer and their loved ones. Women with breast cancer formed the group and they constantly work on reducing breast cancer in women all over the world, including New Zealand.
The Breast Cancer Network of New York is looking for volunteers to help out their organization in a number of ways. They want people who are willing to help with their fundraising efforts, taking donations for a variety of products and to answer the phone during their business hours of 11 a. m. until 3 p. m. on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays.
