New Jersey-based network provider Verizon Wireless confirmed that it found the cause of outage that hit its 4G LTE mobile network services starting late Tuesday.
Verizon Wireless said that it was working to fix the problem; however, it failed to establish when the system would be restored.
Commenting on the topic, a spokesperson for Verizon said, "We expect to see the network restore on a market-by-market basis. Timing and additional details will be provided as they become available."
According to a statement from the company, LTE users can still make voice calls and use slower data connections on Verizon's CDMA network; however, subscribers can neither use the LTE network not activate any LTE device.
LTE is Verizon's fastest network that has been rolled out to attract new customers by providing a boost to sales of data plans. Last month, Verizon launched its first 4G handset- the HTC ThunderBolt.
The glitch did not affect Verizon’s third-generation network, on which handsets like Apple iPhone run.
