Health Authorities Caution Public on Health Concerns Post-FloodsFollowing the disastrous floods across the Riverside Drive, the concerned authorities have leaped into spurt action. With the excessive influx of water blocking the sewerage system of the roads across the residential area, the health concerns among the residents are bound to increase post-floods.

As piles of animal and human wastes are affecting the movement of the residents, health department is leaving no stone unturned to keep the people informed about the potential health issues related to water blocking.

Deciphering the situation, Matthew Zahn, the Interim Director of the Department of Public Health and Wellness, has made an appeal to the local residents to keep their children away from the infected areas to avert the dire consequences of bacteria and other viruses prevalent in still water.

Recommending people to take cautious steps to keep hygiene, Dr. Matthew Zahn, claimed, "The tetanus illness is caused by a bacteria that is very commonly found in soil in all parts of the world and when you have flooding you can come in contact with that bacteria".

Moreover, Dr. Zahn recommended people to wear gloves in case they are getting into water and further asserted to adopt precautionary measures like rubber boots to keep the health concerns pertaining to floods at bay.
