Google is yet to release the final version of its cloud-centric Chrome OS, but details of the Chrome OS-based netbooks have already started emerging.
Dutch website Chrome Nieuws spotted a notebook from Samsung, codenamed "Alex" in Google’s repository. The potential notebook is claimed to have a 1280 by 800 pixel display, 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 processor, 2GB of RAM, a SanDisk solid-state drive, a Qualcomm Gobi 2000 3G card, a webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet port.
Another Chrome OS report uncovered by Macles claims that Acer will also launch an Chrome OS-based notebook, dubbed ZGB, which will come equipped with an Intel Atom processor, HDMI out, a 1366 by 768 pixel display, most probably in the range of 10 to 12-inch range.
Details of a potential device, codenamed Seaboard, were also caught in the wild. The device was shown featuring a touchscreen, a Tegra 2 processor. Google is reportedly using the device to test the tablet-friendly tweaks of the upcoming operating system.
Things are expected to become clear at Google’s I/O event that is scheduled for next month.
