Space agency NASA has announced that it might decide on Sunday if its space shuttle Endeavour would be able to blast off on Monday.
Earlier, NASA was forced to scrub Endeavour’s Friday launch until at least Monday due to a technical problem in the heaters that keep the space shuttle's hydraulic system from freezing.
NASA officials said that the thermostat that failed during Friday's launch countdown was still not working.
Speaking on the topic, NASA officials said, "Teams will continue additional testing to help determine whether the thermostat is receiving a current or whether the issue is being caused by another part of the system."
On Friday, Endeavour’s massive external tank was fueled and astronauts were on the way to launch pad when the problem was discovered and the flight was scrubbed.
Flight commander Mark Kelly’s wounded wife Gabrielle Giffords and US President Obama also hit the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida to attend the final space mission of Endeavour. US representative Gabrielle Giffords has been following a rehabilitation program at Houston-based TIRR Memorial Hermann since she was shot in the head during Tucson shooting spree on January 8.
Like Space Shuttle Discovery, Endeavour will also be retired after it completes its upcoming space mission.
