Raising their concerns over the excessive consumption of sugar, experts recommend consuming no more than eight teaspoons of sugar in one day but data suggests that on an average, Americans consume four times of the recommended limit.
Recently, a video about the dangers of sugar has reported triggering a lot of debates everywhere with more than a million views where Dr. Robert Lustig highlights the possible dangers associated with sugar, calling it toxic.
Author Jim Lavalle said, “And I think a lot of research now is pointing to the fact that when people take in higher amounts of sugar. It's going to cause a lot of problems. As I gain body fat, I gain belly fat and the chemicals that come out of the body fat start to alter my chemistry. It's a process that leads you to chronic disease”.
After completing his 30-year long study on the implications of excessive consumption of sugar, Dr. Lyn Steffen believes that sugar intake has steadily increased and right alongside it, our weight.
He is of opinion that most of the people don’t bother looking at the labels of the food products they buy and they don’t realize that foods like sports drinks or cereal bars are full of excessive sugar we consume in our daily lives.
