Passive smoking has been a cause for numerous health hazards. In a new study, it has been confirmed that pregnant women who live or work around smokers are more prone to numerous health hazards.
As per the researchers, passive smoking can increase the risk of stillborn baby. It can also cause problems like giving birth to a slightly smaller baby or having a baby with a smaller head than normal. The Canadian study has shown concerns for the pregnant women and their unborn child.
The study has been confirmed by the Joan Crane, of Eastern Health in St. John's, Canada. The research is definitely progressive and will help numerous pregnant women and their families.
Pregnant women should take extra precaution to make sure that they avoid places with people smoking. The smoke contains more harmful chemicals when compared to the smoke inhaled through the filter. These chemicals can cause numerous health hazards and can also harm the fetus in many ways.
The researchers used the data of more than 12,000 women from the Canadian provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador. As per the reports more than 11% pregnant women have been faced the problems of passive smoking. Out of the cases of death during the third trimester of pregnancy there were more than 0.83% women who have faced the problems of passive smoking and 0.37 % women did not breathe tobacco fumes.
