“Star Wars” on Blu-ray to be released on Sept. 16The House of Lucas is finally going to release the original Star Wars trilogy and prequels on Blu-ray on 16th of September.

The Blu-Ray collection of all six Star Wars movies will come in a nine-disc set that will contain more than forty hours of special features, including extended, alternate and deleted scenes, along with new documentaries

When first rolled out for the home video market in 1982, Star Wars movie was made available on VHS and Beta videocassettes.

In 1985, the space opera was introduced Constant Angular Velocity CAV) format that allowed fans to watch the movie frame-by-frame. Ten years later in 1995, a "definitive collection" of the Star Wars was rolled out with nine laser discs and the first commentary track.

In 2001, "Star Wars: Episode I- the Phantom Menace" became available on DVDs too. Deleted scenes were also thrown in to add to fans' delight.

Fans can buy the whole nine-disc set or can choose to buy each trilogy separately as a 3-disc set. But, all of the fresh and recycled bonus material will accompany only "Star Wars: The Complete Saga".
