Breastival to Educate Women against Breast Cancer Earlier mammography may play a significant role to prevent women from the lethal disease, breast cancer, studies claimed.

Chief of breast Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center in New York and Chairman of the American Society of Breast Surgeons publication committee, Sheldon Feldman, talked about the breast cancer incidents among the Asian women and said: "That's an important point. Whether or not you agree with the general recommendations for average groups, then certainly for minorities and certain subgroups, those recommendations need to be altered”.

Researcher at the University of Missouri examined the database of around 1,581 breast cancer patients carefully and observed that around 47% of the patients, out of 311 aged between 40 and 49, were identified through the mammography.

Further, the sufferers with mammogram were observed with a 20 mm median tumor diameter, a significantly small figure, as compared to 30mm for non memo group. In addition to this women categorized in the mammogram group were less likely to have the disease in lymph nodes.

Meanwhile, a local organization has organized an event Breastival, to educate women, particularly the college girls, about the breast cancer accompanied with various other activities such as games, prizes and food.
