Google testing redesigned search results page

Google testing redesigned search results pageWeb search giant Google search is testing a new results page, which features a new colour scheme along with a lot more white space.

Though changes in the new search results page are not dramatic, yet one can easily notice that the green, purple and blue colours are not as harsh in the new pages as they are on the existing pages.

The linings that were earlier seen under each search result mysteriously disappeared. There is more white space around each search result and each link. In addition, each search result on the new search pages is separated by a dashing line.

However, a number of users did not like the changes. When asked about the changes, a distressed Twitterer said, "What the heck was wrong with the old design?"

The most bizarre thing regarding the new test page is that it provides much less information on the screen. It means one will have to do more scrolling and paging through results to locate what they are looking for.

The search giant is collecting data on how its millions of users react to the changes to determine if it should make the changes permanent or not.
