Jon Rettinger over at Technobuffalo has posted a 22-minute long comparison video that pits the Asus Eee Pad Transformer against Apple’s second generation tablet- the iPad 2.
The video available online shows the iOS tablet competing against the Android tablet in a total of six rounds, viz. operating system, screen, speed, browser, applications and intangibles.
The Asus Honeycomb tablet comes with a price tag of $399, while the iPad 2 costs $499. But one should keep in mind that keyboard dock for the Asus Honeycomb tablet cost additional $150.
The WiFi-only Asus Eee Pad Transformer features a big, bright 10.1-inch display, and is powered by 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor.
The new Asus tablet also brings 1GB of RAM, HDMI Out, MicroSD, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, a G-sensor, gyroscope, GPS and e-compass. Like Apple’s iPad 2, it also features dual cameras.
Generous specs of the Asus Honeycomb tablet are helping it in attracting big swarms of customers. It was sold out within minutes of going on sale on Amazon.
But, Apple’s iPad is still the dominant player in the tablet market. The iPad 2 is expected to continue dominating the market with market share of 70-80 per cent in 2011.
