Google has updated its web browser Chrome by making some privacy improvements and adding support for 3D graphics.
The web search giant said in a blog post that it had finished the implementation of support for 3D CSS to allow developers to add 3D effects to the content using CSS.
Screen reader usability has also been enhanced. The company said that it added preliminary support for a number of screen readers like that of JAWS and NVDA.
The web browser now has malware and phishing protection and it now warns the user before downloading sorts of malicious files.
Separately, French security firm Vupen said yesterday that it discovered an exploit that allow bypassing security measures in Chrome web browser.
In its security blog, Vupen said, "While Chrome has one of the most secure sandboxes and has always survived the Pwn2Own contest during the last three years, we have now uncovered a reliable way to execute arbitrary code on any installation of Chrome despite its sandbox, ASLR and DEP.”
The security firm stressed that it would not publicize the code and details of the exploit. Instead it would give the details to government customers of its vulnerability research service program.
It may be noted here that Google’s Chrome effectively survived hackers’ attacks at the last thee consecutive Pwn2Own hacking contests.
